LEGISLATION
• Developed No Straw November in collaboration with the Monterey Bay Aquarium to challenge people of all ages, all over the world to stop using straws during the month of November. Empowered students to make a change and ultimately, the initiative became a worldwide challenge.
− Partnered with the California Coastal Commission and Senate Majority Leader Bill Monning to implement the initiative statewide in 2018.

• Provided witness testimony before the California State Natural Resources Committee on behalf of California Assembly Majority Leader Ian Calderon’s AB-1884.

Styrofoam Ban at San Benito High School
• Served as Co-President of the Environmental Club at San Benito High School, partnering with school officials and the Board of Trustees to take more responsibility in being an environmentally friendly school by implementing a campus-wide ban on polystyrene (Styrofoam) food containers; effective Feb 2019.
