Beaches have a lot of litter the day after 4th of July. Many thanks to all the volunteers who came out to support Jr Ocean Guardians and Save our Shores at Del Monte Beach. Over 50 pounds of plastic (including straws), glass, cigarette butts, and even a diaper were picked up on the beach and are now either being recycled or disposed of properly. KSBW Action 8 News ran a big story featuring Save our Shores volunteer efforts and it also included an interview with Shelby from Jr Ocean Guardians. A big thank you to the many Girl Scouts who volunteered and Heidi from Save our Shores, you all made a HUGE impact to the ocean! And, Jr Ocean Guardians distributed 51 activity books, pins, and patches too.
