Happy Earth Day

Appreciating nature is one of the most practical acts we can do as a society. Everything we have created has originated from natural substances or processes that transform nature into other goods. To be ignorant of nature is to be naive of invention. While we have been removed from the wonders of inventions - we are not far removed from the source. We are now flooded with an endless feed of new products and that has caused many of us to be desensitized. To source anything is to source from nature. Our planet has been sacrificed for humankind’s innovations and expansion of creativity. When I think on the grand scale of things being produced, I can often feel overwhelmed. To live in this current system, we are forced to be consumers regardless of desire. 

I owe everything I love to nature. The evolution of life and the sacrifices for innovation have all been carried by the Earth. To not be thankful to planet Earth would be foolish, as it would be ignorant of the basis of our modern existence. Earth provides for us - we must normalize providing for Earth. You don’t have to be the biggest fan of hiking or camping to have compassion for the planet. There is no one-size-fits-all to understand Earth’s greatness.
